Guess what finally arrived in Stellenbosch ... the cluster they've been threatening to setup for the M&M Engineering projects, might be a good time to resume my search engine research, the only thing that was holding it back was memory and processing power, this machine has enough of both.

SPECS:
CPU: 168 Cores at 2.83GHz each
Memory: 336GB
I/O: 12.1TB
Power Idle: 5.6kW
Power Peak: 7.5kW

The machine is running Open MPI using SUSE (with Grid Engine) in order to harvest the full potential of the machine.

For the rest of the specs, see the attached PDF.

168 cores... hmm... fun...

I wonder what uses the department will find for it... I'm sure they'll just waste it. They should give it to me instead :P
